Runner-Z is a video game created for the Intellivision console of 1979.
It was develop using BASIC and the intellivision compiler Intybasic. 
The game consist of the classical genre of games where a player runs while avoiding various obstacles as he/she does. 
The game allows for functions such as jumping and quickly changing lanes to avoid that obstacles. 
One of its lastest features, it is the ability to obtain power up; ghostly invisibility, bonus points and bonus lives. 
In order to obtain them, they must be acquired during the short period of time that they appear in the game. 
They look like other objects but have unique attributes. 
One can proceed throught the levels by acquiring the coins need to move on to the next level but be warm each level increases in 
difficulty that I challenge you pass level 8 of the game.

Game Mechanics Update

Three power ups:

- Extra points

If you find one, a back screen will appear with your character and the power up you obtain.
  - The game is a clasical mobile running game. The character can do things such as jumping and switching lanes. 
One of it lastest features, it is the ability to obtain power up. 
The game currently only has 3: short ghostly invisibility, bonus points, bonus lives. 
In order to obtain them, you need to find them in the game. They look like other object but have a different color. 
They are also rare to find. If you find one, a back screen will appear with your character and the power up you obtain.

  - The game also has different stages each stage will contain more challenges to face. 
You you pass to a new level an black screen will appear with the level you reach.



· Background:

o At the right side of the screen, you can three statistics: your current score, the number of lives that you have left and the current level.

§ The highest score one can get it 999. The highest live is 99 and the highest level is 9.

§ The heart next to the lives left indicates what power up you currently have.

· Red = Normal

· Blue = Ghostly Invisibility

· Green = Extra Lives

· Black = Extra Experience (EXP) (Score)

o At the left of the screen, it is where most of the gameplay takes place.

§ It contains three lanes that the main character can switch to by pressing left or right.

§ Each lane may have items or obstacles that can be collected/collide with during the game.

Gameplay

· The goal of the game is to get to level 9 of the game.

· Level:

o Each level consists of three lanes that the character can choose to move to. Each lane will allow the character to avoid the obstacles that are going to be coming from the current lane.

o You can switch levels when the needed score (EXP) has been meet. The following is the distribution of score need to pass each level:

§ Level 1: 100 points

§ Level 2: 110 points

§ Level 3: 130 points

§ Level 4: 150 points

§ Level 5: 250 points

§ Level 6: 500 points

§ Level 7: 650 points

§ Level 8: 750 points

§ Level 9: 1000 points

o The score allows you to see how close you are from passing the current level.

o At each level, the gameplay becomes more difficult. Each of following characteristics gets affected during the game:

§ The rate at which object and items show up

§ The score needed to pass the level

§ The distribution of the chances of certain items and objects appearing in the game

o There is an animation with the main character and the upcoming level to indicate the transitions between levels.

· Power Ups:

o There are various powers that our main character can obtains through the game. They are the followings:

§ Ghostly Invisibility (Blue Rock)

· It allows the character to hover over the lanes for some time. This allow it to not get hit by the rock and still be able to collect points and other items.

§ Extra Lives (Green Apple)

· For a period of time, it will provide the player a maximum of 5 lives.

§ Extra Experience (Black coin)

· For a period of time, it will provide the player a maximum of 50 points.

Sound and Music

· When a coin is collected, or the character is hit by a rock, there is going to be a sound to let the player know

User Interface/Game Controls

· Left Button: Allows the character to move to the line at its left

· Right Button: Allows the character to move to the line at its right

· Up Button: Allows the character to jump over obstacles

· Pause Button: Pauses the game until pressed again
